The Teatro Lirico Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Hubert Soudant, on Friday 21st and Saturday22nd November, for the 2008-2009 Concert Season
The 2008-2008 Concert Season at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari continues with the fourth performance, on Friday 21st November at 8.30pm (session A) and Saturday 22nd November at 7pm (session B), by the Teatro Lirico Orchestra and the Chorus, conducted by Hubert Soudant.
The solo parts are: Alexei Ogrintchuk, oboe and Marina Comparato, contralto. Fulvio Fogliazza is the Chorus master. The evening programme includes: Alfonso und Estrella D. 732: overture by Franz Schubert; Concerto in C major for oboe and orchestra K. 314 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; Rosamunde, Fürstin von Cypern, incidental music D. 797 by Franz Schubert. The concert proposes, firstly, the two musical compositions by Franz Schubert (Lichtenthal, Vienna, 1797 – Vienna, 1828), Alfonso und Estrella composed in 1821-1822 and Rosamunde, 1823, that denote the peak in the refined Austrian composer’s creativity and secondly, Concerto in C major fo oboe and orchestra composed in 1778 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Salisburgo, 1756 – Vienna, 1791). Following the death of his mother in July of the same year, 1778, Mozart left Paris to spend some time in Germany, where, among other things, he also wrote Concerto for oboe in Mannheim. This spell was characterized by a fervid and ample creative freedom from which originated concertos and sonatas for piano, but also for flute, fagotto and, of course, oboe.
