The Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, conducted by Myung-Whun Chung, closes the VIII Festival di Sant’Efisio

The VIII Festival di Sant’Efisio at the Teatro Lirico, Cagliari, closes with another extraordinary evening of classical music on Thursday 22nd May at 8.30pm (session A). The Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, conducted by the renowned Korean conductor Myung-Whun Chung for the first time at the theatre, with Lars Vogt, piano.

The musical programme includes: Primo concerto in D minor for piano op. 15 by Johannes Brahms and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony in C minor op. 67.

The distinguished German orchestra played at the Teatro Lirico, Cagliari on November 22nd 1997, conducted by the late Giuseppe Sinopoli, performing music that ranged from Alban Berg to Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms.

The Festival of Sant'Efisio is subsidized by the Regione Autonoma della Sardegna, Fondazione Banco di Sardegna, Poste Italiane, Energit S.p.A. and is accomplished in collaboration with the Azienda e Vigneto Feudi della Medusa.
