The 2009-2010 Concert Season at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari continues, on Saturday 27th March at 7pm (session B), with the nineteenth appointment: the Ysaÿe Quartet performs in an evening of excellent chamber music. The French newspaper “Le Monde” defined the ensemble «Le meilleur de nos quatuors français»; it is made up of Guillaume Sutre and Luc-Marie Aguera (violins); Miguel da Silva (viola) and Yovan Markovitch (cello).
The musical programme includes: Quartet for strings in B flat major D. 112 by Franz Schubert; Quartet for strings in C minor Op. 51 N. 1 by Johannes Brahms and Quartet for strings in E flat minor Op. 59 N. 2 by Ludwig van Beethoven.
The Teatro Lirico di Cagliari is taking part in the World Theatre Day with this concert by the Ysaÿe Quartet, an event launched in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute and promoted by the United Nations and UNESCO, with the aim to create public awareness of the importance of theatrical expression and to promote the development of the performing arts all over the world.
