On Saturday 30th May 2009 at 7pm at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari a gala evening will be held in memory of Giusy Devinu: the evening is dedicated to the soprano singer from Cagliari, who passed away on 2nd May 2007. Artists, friends, colleagues and pupils, creators and organizers of the event will come together to remember the great singer. Excerpts from operas will be performed, unpublished videos showing parts of her career will be shown and there will also be several fragments of stories from people who admired her.

The Teatro Lirico di Cagliari Chorus and Solists, will be performing with the extraordinary participation of well-known artists such as Roberto Servile, Sarah Maria Punga, Francesca Sassu, Francesco Medda and Gianluca Belfiori. Riccardo Leone and Andrea Mudu will alternate on the piano. The actress Gisella Vacca will read memoirs and stories.

The evening programme includes the performance of famous arias, duets, quartets, sextets and choruses from: Lakmé by Léo Delibes; Lucia di Lammermoor by Gaetano Donizetti; La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, Turandot by Giacomo Puccini; La donna del lago by Gioachino Rossini; Rigoletto, Macbeth, La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi.

Tickets are on sale at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari Box Office at the symbolic price of € 2,00 (SIAE expenses).
