MAT – musica arte teatro - music art theatre - with Piccolo Atlante della Sardegna - La collezione Soddu-Tanda. A Small Atlas of Sardinia – The Soddu-Tanda Collection. The new visual project continues at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari

From Tuesday 21st April to Sunday 7th June, the Stalls foyer at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari is hosting the exhibition Piccolo Atlante della Sardegna - La collezione Soddu-Tanda for the IX Festival di Sant’Efisio.
An articulated exhibition which includes part of the collection of paintings, currently belonging to Benetutti Town Council, thanks to donations made by Pietro Soddu in memory of his parents. The exhibition includes contemporary Sardinian art, produced by several artists: from the most renowned Sardinian ones, to those less known to the general public and including well-known artists from other regions.

62 works will be on display to the public, an ample selection of an important phase of figurative art in Sardinia and of its varied tendencies: Leonardo Boscani, Pinuccia Marras, Gianni Nieddu, Aldo Tilocca, Pastorello, Pietro Sedda, Gaetano Brundu, Josephine Sassu, Maura Saddi, Danilo Sini, Bruno Petretto, Tonino Casula, Rosanna Rossi, Ermanno Leinardi, Italo Utzeri, Maria Lai, Zaza Calzia, Nino Dore, Paola Dessy, Giovanna Secchi, Giovanni Carta, Angelino Fiori, Roberto Puzzu, Salvatore Garau, Sisinnio Usai, Giuseppe Biasi, Remo Branca, Mario Delitala, Stanis Dessy, Carmelo Floris, Bernardino Palazzi, Vincenzo Satta and Antonio Secci. This represents an excellent occasion to admire an exhibition that “highlights the profound differences and even the contrasts that can be found in the world of Sardinian art. It shows that our artistic productions are not detached from external tendencies, although the characteristics of new artistic movements have often been absorbed late and then lingered over a little too passively for a long time.” (from: Pietro Soddu, critic’s text from the exhibition catalogue, Grafiche Ghiani)

The exhibition opening will take place on Tuesday 21st April at 7pm.

The exhibition catalogne, edited by Grafiche Ghiani, includes presentations by Gabriella Locci and by Gianni Murineddu, the mayor of Benetutti, a text by the critic Pietro Soddu, illustrations of all the works on show and a brief biography of each artist.

The exhibition will be open during performances and also from Tuesday to Saturdays from 10am to 2pm and from 6pm to 8pm. Entrance to the exhibition is free.
