The X Festival di Sant’Efisio continues, on Thursday 29th April at 8.30pm (session B), with the 21st appointment of the 2009-2010 Concert Season at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari: the unusual, but fascinatine instrumental ensemble, Les Percussions de Strasbourg, performs. The ensemble, established in 1962, is made up of six musicians (Jean-Paul Bernard artistic director, Claude Ferrier, Bernard Lesage, Keiko Nakamura, François Papirer and Olaf Tzschoppe) who are proposing pieces from a vast musical repertoire of nineteenth century percussions in a concert entitled: Un secolo di percussioni, tra classicismo e innovazione (A century of percussions from classicism to innovation).

The musical programme includes: Ionisation by Edgar Varèse; Aqba, nel soffio tuo dolce by Oscar Bianchi; Refontes by Raphaël Cendo; Sextuor de sixxens by Philippe Manoury; Hiérophonie 5 by Yoshihisa Taïra.

The X Festival di Sant’Efisio is funded by the Assessorato al Turismo, Artigianato e Commercio della Regione Autonoma della Sardegna (Department of Tourism, Craftsmanship and Trade) and by the Fondazione Banco di Sardegna.
