The Accademia Internazionale di Musica di Cagliari (International Music Academy of Cagliari) in collaboration once again with the Fondazione Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, presents the International Festival “Le notti musicali” on the evenings 2nd, 3rd and 4th September 2010, at 9pm. The prestigious co-production includes soloists’ recitals and chamber music with new formations involving musicians of international fame.

On Thursday 2nd September, Jean Marc Luisada (piano), together with Svetlin Roussev (violin), will be performing Mazurke by Chopin and Sonata in A major by Franck. The Modigliani Quartet follow, Masao Kawasaki (viola) and Cristian Marcia (guitar), playing Concerto for Viola, Guitar and Strings by Vivaldi; the reciting voice of Caterina Murino accompanied by Cristian Marcia neo Preludes and Studio n.1 by Hilla-Lobos and the guitar duet Cristian Marcia - Sebastien Llinares with Pavane by Fauré, La Fille auxheveux de lin, Claire de lune and Golliwogg's Cake-Walk by Debussy .

The second concert on Friday 3rd September opens with Huseyin Sermet (piano) in Pictures at an exhibition by Mussorgsky and the Modigliani Quartet with Fabio Bidini (piano) in Quintet for strings and piano by Franck.


The festival closes on Saturday 4th September with Philippe Muller (cello) and Jacques Rouvier (piano) in Fünf Stücke im Volkston by Schumann; Jean Ferrandis (flute) and Fabio Bidini (piano) with Sonata by Taktakishvili. The evening continues with Jacques Rouvier (piano), Modiglioni Quartet, Philippe Bernard (violin), Laurent Mafaign (viola) and François Kieffer (cello) in Quintet for Strings and Piano Op.34 by Brahms.
