19th Century politics, literature and melodrama: Francesca Russo for the IX Festival di Sant’Efisio at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari
On Tuesday 5th May at 7pm in the Stalls foyer at the Teatro Lirico, the historian Francesca Russo will hold a conference entitled L’uso politico delle figure storiche nell’opera lirica e nella letteratura dell’Ottocento: il mito di Bruto e Lorenzino de’ Medici (The political use of historical figures in nineteenth century opera and literature: The myth of Bruto and Lorenzino de’ Medici), in which the relationship between 19th century politics, literature and melodrama will be the topic discussed.
The event is part of the IX Festival di Sant’Efisio at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari.
