Don Pasquale by Gaetano Donizetti, in an unusual version with the Teatro Lirico Chorus, conducted by Fulvio Fogliazza, and with the Compagnia Is Mascareddas, on tour in Sardinia
On Tuesday 9th June at 6pm, at the Teatro Is Mascareddas in Monserrato, the musical activities, part of the Teatro Lirico’s “Un’Isola di Musica – Festival d’estate 2009” continue. There are six dates dedicated to Don Pasquale, the famous opera buffa in three acts by Gaetano Donizetti, presented for the first time in an enchanting anthology of the opera, narrated and sung. Fulvio Fogliazza conducts the Teatro Lirico Chorus, the soloists; Graziella Ortu (Norina), Moreno Patteri (Ernesto), Antonello Pippia (Don Pasquale) and Gionata Gilio (Doctor Malatesta). The narrated parts of the four main characters are played by the Compagnia Is Mascareddas’ puppets, who interact with the soloists and the chorus. Andrea Mudu accompanies on the piano.
