On Monday 16th May at 9pm, in Piazzale della Cattedrale di San Pantaleo, Dolianova, L’Isola della Lirica tour begins with a concert performed by the Teatro Lirico Chorus, conducted by Fulvio Fogliazza. The concert opens the exhibition “Un’Isola di musica 2008” and will also be performed in a further six places.

The programme of the evening includes pieces from some of the most well-known choral works by Giuseppe Verdi (Il trovatore, La Traviata, Nabucco, La forza del destino), Vincenzo Bellini (La sonnambula), Pietro Mascagni (Cavalleria rusticana), Georges Bizet (Carmen), Charles Gounod (Faust) and Carl Orff (Carmina Burana), performed by the Teatro Lirico Chorus, conducted by Fulvio Fogliazza, and accompanied by Andrea Mudu on the piano.

Solists: Beatrice Murtas (soprano), Tiziana Nauaui/Luana Spinola (mezzosoprano), Moreno Patteri/Luca Sannai (tenor), Alessandro Frabotta/Antonello Pippia (bass).

The tour continues on Wednesday 18th June at 9pm at the Arena Mirastelle in Carbonia, Thursday 19th June at 9pm at the Teatro Comunale in Serrenti, Friday 20th June at 9pm at the Centro di aggregazione sociale in Serdiana, Saturday 21st June at 9pm at the Centro Comunale d’Arte e Cultura “Il Lazzaretto”, Sant’Elia, Cagliari and on Monday 23rd June 8pm in Piazza del Comune, Pula.
