The Kerkezos Saxophone Quartet’s Sardinian tour continues with the performance entitled From the Saxophone Orchestra of Piraeus Prefecture, visiting eight different localities for “Un’Isola di musica 2008”.

The group is made up of Theodore Kerkezos (alto saxophone), Dionyssis Roussos (alto saxophone), Dimitris Papagelopoulos (tenor saxophone), Guido De Flaviis (baritone saxophone), Matina Velimachiti (soprano), Francesco Nicolosi (piano).

The evening programme includes: La Primavera (transcription for sax quartet) by Antonio Vivaldi; Habanera by Geoges Bizet; Petit quatuor by Jean Francaix; Mein Herr Marquis from Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss; Epirotikos, Kleftikos by Nicos Skalkottas; Memory by Andrew Lloyd Webber; Oblivion, Libertango by Astor Piazzolla; I feel pretty by Leonard Berstein; Zorbas by Mikis Theodorakis; Tableaux de Provence: Farandole des jeunes filles, Chanson pour ma mie, La bohemienne, Des alyscamps l’ame soupire, Le cabridan by Paule Maurice; Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin.

- Wednesday 16th July at 9pm at theTeatro Eliseo, Nuoro,
- Thursday 17th July at 9pm in the courtyard of the Scuola media, Palau.
