On
Friday 28th March at 11am at the
Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, the
Teatro Lirico Orchestra, conducted by
Rino Marrone, will be performing a concert as part of the events organised for the
10th Culture Week. The pianists
Emma Petrillo e Rosa Santoro will perform and
Nicola Lecca, the young writer from Cagliari, will be the presenter and captivating narrator.
The musical programme, centred purposefully around the animal world, hence the title,
Zoomusica, is dedicated mainly to schools and young people. It includes:
Le carnaval des animaux: suite for piano and ensemble by Camille Saint-Saëns;
Histoire de Babar le petit éléphant, for narrator and orchestra by Francis Poulenc.
The concert will also be performed at “Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina” State Music School, at 11am (on all the following dates), Saturday 29th March, Monday 31st March, Tuesday 1st April, Wednesday 2nd April and Thursday 3rd April.
In the Stalls foyer of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, from Thursday 27th March to Thursday 3rd April, it will be possibile to visit
Zoomusica, an exhibition of artistic illustrations by pupils from
Foiso Fois” Artistic High School in Cagliari, which were inspired by
Le carnaval des animaux, Camille Saint-Saëns.
The 10th Culture Week, from the 25th to 31st March is organized and promoted by the
Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Environmental Conservation. Once again, this year the Cultural Week aims to optimise the enjoyment of state museums, monuments, theatres and archaeological sites which will be open to the public free of charge. Several events have been organized such as special and new openings, guided visits, restoration work in progress or recently finished, concerts, performances, film showings, acting, exhibitions, meetings, conferences and educational activities for young people.
The Ministry has chosen the slogan L
a Settimana della Cultura: una festa per tutti (Culture Week: a festival for everyone) for this 10th edition. The Teatro Lirico di Cagliari will also be partecipating in the free cultural event, organizing concerts and special musical performances, guided visits and exhibitions, in collaboration with
"Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina” State Music School, Cagliari.
The 10th Culture Week of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari is subsidized by the
Fondazione Banco di Sardegna and is accomplished in collaboration with the
Azienda e Vigneto Feudi della Medusa.
