On Friday 13th February at 8.30pm (session A) and Saturday 14th February at 7pm (session B), the Budapest Festival Orchestra will be performing at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, for the eleventh engagement of the 2008-2009 Concert Season., József Csócsi Lendvay and József Lendvay jr. (violins), Oszkár Ökrös (cimbalom): two unmissable evenings dedicated to Tzigane music, conducted by Iván Fischer, with improvisations for violin and cimbalom.

The famous orchestra last performed at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari on 19th May 2007, for the closure of the VII Festival di Sant’Efisio. It will be performing a programme of Tzigane music with improvisations for violin and cimbalom including: Hungarian Rhapsody N. 3 by Franz Liszt; Hungarian Dances Ns. 15, 1 and 11 by Johannes Brahms; Zigeunerweisen op. 20 by Pablo de Sarasate, and Johannes Brahm’s First Siymphony C minor op. 68.
