The 2008-2009 Concert Season at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari continues with its thirteenth appointment, on Friday 27th February at 8.30pm (session A) and Saturday 28th February at 7pm (session B), with the Teatro Lirico Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Alexander Vedernikov, the musical director at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Vedernikov opened the season last year with the opera The Legend of the invisibile city of Kitež by Rimskij Korsakov and on April 22nd will open the 2009 Opera and Ballet Season with Semën Kotko by Sergej Prokof’ev.

Solists: Alexei Volodin piano, Yekaterina Shcherbachenko soprano, Maxim Pastér tenor and Vadim Lynkovskiy bass. The Chorus master is Fulvio Fogliazza.

The musical programme includes: Slavonic March op. 31 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky; Rhapsody on a theme by Paganini op. 43 and The Bells for solos, chorus and orchestra op. 35 by Sergej Rachmaninov.
