Alessandro D’Agostini conducts the Teatro Lirico Strings Orchestra, on tour in Sardinia with Concerto barocco	On Wednesday 28th July the Teatro Lirico musical activities in Sardinia continue with eight performances entitled Concerto barocco dedicated entirely to the refined music of the seventeenth and eighteenth century. Alessandro D’Agostini conducts the Teatro Lirico String Orchestra and the soloists are: Maurizio Minore (viola) and Simone Guarneri (double bass). The seven other performances are: Thursday 29th July at 9pm at Centro Santa Barbara, Iglesias; Friday 30th July at 7.30pm at the Chiesa Santa Maria degli Angeli, Flumini, Quartu S. Elena; Saturday 31st July at 9pm at the Teatro La Vetreria, Cagliari-Pirri; Tuesday 3rd August at 9.15pm at the Teatro Comunale, Palau; Wednesday 4th August at 9pm at the Teatro Comunale, Arzachena; Friday 6th August at 9pm at the Arena Mirastelle, Carbonia and Saturday 7th August at 9pm in San Pantaleo Cathedral Parvis, Dolianova.
Fulvio Fogliazza conducts the Teatro Lirico Chorus, on tour in Sardinia with Va pensiero...	On Wednesday 28th July at 9pm, in Piazza delle ex Scuole, Via del Mare, Villasimius, the Teatro Lirico musical activities continue with four performances entitled Va pensiero..., dedicated to choral music and to great opera scenes. Fulvio Fogliazza conducts the Teatro Lirico Chorus. Musical accompaniment on the piano by Andrea Mudu. The musical programme includes: Giuseppe Verdi Nabucco: Gli arredi festivi; Vincenzo Bellini La sonnambula: Qui la selva è più folta ed ombrosa; Giuseppe Verdi La Traviata: Coro di zingarelle e Coro di mattadori; Georges Bizet Carmen: Coro di sigaraie; Giuseppe Verdi Ernani: Evviva!... Beviamo!, Macbeth: Tre volte miagola, Il Trovatore: Vedi! Le fosche notturne spoglie; Carl Orff Carmina Burana: O fortuna, Fortune plango vulnera, Veris leta facies, Ecce gratum; Giuseppe Verdi Nabucco: Va pensiero. Sandro Sanna conducts the Teatro Lirico Orchestra, on tour in Sardinia	On Thursday 29th July at 9pm, in Piazza San Sebastiano, Segariu, the Teatro Lirico musical activities around Sardinia continue with seven performances dedicated to symphonic music. Sandro Sanna conducts the Teatro Lirico Orchestra, and the soloists are: Luca Maria Leone (horn) and Pasquale Iriu (clarinet). The other six performances are: Sunday 1st August at 9pm at the Lazzaretto di Sant’Elia, Cagliari; Monday 2nd August at 9pm at the Arena Mirastelle, Carbonia; Wednesday 4th August at 9pm at the Centro Santa Barbara, Iglesias; Thursday 5th August 5th August at 9pm in Piazza del Comune, Pula; Friday 6th August at 9pm at the Teatro Garau, Oristano, and Saturday 7th August at 9pm at the Teatro La Vetreria, Cagliari-Pirri.
2010/2011 Concert Season launched. BOD approves the 2009 accounts, closure balances for the sixth year.	Interesting news, top ranking Italian artists and great names from the international music scene characterize this 2010/2011 Concert Season at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari launched on Friday 25th June by the Theatre’s Board of Directors The BOD also approved the final balance for 2009, breaking even for the sixth year in a row. “This proves the successful management results that have distinguished my entire mandate in Cagliari”, reveals the CE Maurizio Pierantonio. “A management, which despite the minimal profits, has placed the Lirico in a unique position among the Italian Establishments due to the monetary austerity and the quality of the artistic productions expressed, two factors that the Cagliari public (and not only) have shown appreciation for.”
International Selections through qualifications and examinations, for Orchestra members	The Teatro Lirico di Cagliari Establishment announces International Selections for qualifications and examinations, for Orchestra members to be included in the classification list allowing candidates to proceed to possible recruiting, with a fixed term contract, substitutions and any requirements regarding the artistic activities of the 2010/2011 Season. The selections regard the following instruments: Leader First Violins to include second and third duty and section duty as required; Sub Leader First Violins with third duty and section duty as required Section violin; First Viola with second duty and section duty as required; Section Viola Section Cello; Section Double bass with V cord duty as required; Second Flute with piccolo duty and flute section duty as required; Piccolo with second flute duty and section duty as required; Second Oboe with cor anglais duty and oboe section duty as required; Cor anglais with second oboe duty and oboe section duty as required; First Clarinet with E flat clarinet duty and section duty as required; Second Clarinet with E flat clarinet duty and section duty as required; Second Bassoon with section duty as required; Contrabassoon with bassoon section duty as required; Third Horn with horn section duty as required; Second – Fourth Horn with horn section duty as required; Second Trumpet with third trumpet duty and section duty as required; Second Trombone with third trombone duty and section duty as required; Third Trombone with bass trombone duty and section duty as required; Bass Tuba; Percussions with keyboard duty and all tuned and untuned percussion instruments; Harp; Piano and Celesta.

In distribuzione il nuovo numero di Luglio-Settembre 2010 de Il Lirico	Il numero di Luglio-Settembre presenta la Stagione concertistica 2010-2011 attraverso un'interessante escursus del Direttore artistico Massimo Biscardi. Introdotto dalle parole del Sovrintendente Maurizio Pietrantonio che esalta "la passione e la professionalità" di tutti i Lavoratori del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari. All'interno "il ritorno della Tosca" anticipa un simpaticissimo articolo di Massimiliano Medda incentrato sulla sua esperienza al Lirico con le attività dedicate ai bambini. E proprio ai bambini è dedicato anche l'apporto di Enrico Di Maira che illustra l'emozione dei piccoli membri dell'Orchestra Giovanile Sant'Elia. Piccoli flash rimandano agli allestimenti del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari in scena in varie parti del mondo (Wiesbaden, Parma, Salerno, Palermo, etc.) ed alle forme di protesta gestite con eleganza dai Lavoratori del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari contro il Decreto sulla Riforma delle Fondazioni Lirico-Sinfoniche (oramai Legge). Il consueto appuntamento con la storia di Cagliari, illustrato da Antonello Angioni, propone "il tempo del grande cinema e della rivista" corredato da stupende foto di altrettanto stupende attrici italiane.
La Biglietteria del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari chiude per ferie dal 19 luglio al 20 settembre	Da lunedì 19 luglio fino a lunedì 20 settembre la Biglietteria del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari sarà chiusa al pubblico per ferie. Riaprirà, con i consueti orari, martedì 21 settembre prossimo.
L’elisir d’amore by Gaetano Donizetti on tour in Sardinia	On Friday 16th July at 9pm, in the Parvis of San Pantaleo Cathedral in Dolianova, Teatro Lirico’s musical activities in Sardinia continue with the performance, in concert form, of a narrated and sung anthology of the opera L’elisir d’amore, melodrama giocoso in two acts, with libretto by Felice Romani, taken from the novel Le Philtre by Eugène Scribe and music by Gaetano Donizetti. Alessandro D’Agostini conducts the Teatro Lirico Orchestra and Chorus. The chorus master is Fulvio Fogliazza. The further performances are: Saturday 17th July at 9pm at the Teatro La Vetreria in Cagliari-Pirri; Monday 19th July at 9pm at the Arena Mirastelle in Carbonia; Tuesday 20th July at 9pm in the Town Square in Pula; Thursday 22nd July at 9pm at the Centro Santa Barbara in Iglesias; Friday 23rd July at 9pm in the Parvis of San Michele Arcangelo Church in Collinas and Saturday 24th July at 9pm in the Central Square in Segariu.
Walter Althammer conducts the Teatro Lirico Orchestra on tour in Sardinia with Serenata notturna	On Thursday 22nd July at 9pm, at the Ex Convento dei Cappuccini, Bosa, and on Friday 23rd July at 9pm at the Teatro Garau, Oristano, the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari musical activities continue around Sardinia, with two performances entitled Serenata notturna. Walter Althammer conducts the Teatro Lirico Orchestra, and Nicola Fioravanti, bassoon. The musical programme includes: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik K 525 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; Ciranda das sete notas for bassoon and strings by Heitor Villa-Lobos; Symphony N.29 K 201 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Notes in September nights with the International Music Academy of Cagliari	The Accademia Internazionale di Musica di Cagliari (International Music Academy of Cagliari) in collaboration once again with the Fondazione Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, presents the International Festival “Le notti musicali” on the evenings 2nd, 3rd and 4th September 2010, at 9pm. The prestigious co-production includes soloists’ recitals and chamber music with new formations involving musicians of international fame.
Walter Althammer conducts the Teatro Lirico Orchestra, on tour in Sardinia with Mozartiana	On Friday 16th July at 9pm, at the Teatro La Vetreria in Cagliari-Pirri, and Saturday 17th July at 9pm in the Parvis of San Pantaleo Cathedral in Dolianova, the Teatro Lirico’s musical activities in Sardinia continue with two appointments entitled Mozartiana, dedicated entirely to the brilliant composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Walter Althammer conducts the Teatro Lirico Orchestra, with Roberto Castellani, violin. The musical programme includes: Apollo und Hyacinthus: Prologue K 38; Concerto for violin and orchestra in G major K 216; Divertimento in D major K 251 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Tosca by Giacomo Puccini, passionate, hot-blooded and much loved masterpiece of musical verism, at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari	On Friday 2nd July at 9pm (session A), Tosca is staged at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, for the 2010 Opera and Ballet Season; melodrama in three acts with libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, based on from the dramatic play La Tosca by Victorien Sardou, and with music by Giacomo Puccini, in a production by the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. Two prestigious casts alternate for the performances: Anda-Louise Bogza/Maria Billeri (5th, 9th) (Floria Tosca); Roberto Aronica/Rudy Park (5th, 9th) (Mario Cavaradossi); Giorgio Surian/Angelo Veccia (5th, 9th, 10th) (Baron Scarpia); Alessandro Guerzoni (Cesare Angelotti); Marco Camastra (A Sacristan); Carlo Bosi (Spoletta); Francesco Musinu (Sciarrone); Alessandro Perucca (A jailer); Alessandra Mei (A shepherd). Mario Pontiggia, well-known and praised producer and artistic director of the Las Palmas Opera House Gran Canaria directs the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino production, which dates back to October 2008. Francesco Zito, is responsible for the elegant and traditional set and costumes, and Alfonso Malanda Rodrìguez for the lighting design.

I Puritani by Vincenzo Bellini at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari for Prima della Prima on Rai Tre	On Tuesday 6th July at 01.40, on Rai Tre, the programme Prima della Prima is dedicated entirely to the recent production of I Puritani by Vincenzo Bellini at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari. The well-known programme, lasting 30 minutes, with Rosaria Bronzetti, focuses on “behind the scenes” of operatic productions. The Teatro Lirico di Cagliari report, for the television production by Daniele Deplano, was created by cutting and editing images taken from orchestra and production rehearsals, and from interviews with the main singers. Mariella Devia, queen of eighteenth century belcanto, is the undisputed star of this edition of the Bellini masterpiece; she received unprecedented standing ovations and personal success.

Tribute to Ennio Porrino: the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and the Conservatory remember the Sardinian composer	The Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, has organized a series of events in collaboration with the Conservatory “Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina”, Cagliari, dedicated to the composer Ennio Porrino (Cagliari, 20th January 1910 – Rome, 25th September 1959), on the occasion of the centenary of the composer’s birth and fifty years of his death, entitled Omaggio a Ennio Porrino: musica, parole ed immagini per un ritratto (Tribute to Ennio Porrino: music, words and images for a portrait). The main aim of the whole event, apart from offering the opportunity to listen to rare pieces of beautiful music, is to open a new phase of research and study of the prolific Sardinian composer a through well-organized study congress, which will round up the yearlong programme in September 2010.
